Bleach Stains on Clothes? Don’t Throw Them Away Yet
Bleach marks are not ordinary stains—they are areas where the fabric color has been stripped away. Instead of trying to remove the mark, try restoring or disguising it.
1. Use fabric dye
For larger bleach spots, choose a fabric dye close to the original color and follow the package instructions. This works best when the garment is made from dye-friendly fabrics like cotton, linen, or rayon.
2. Try a fabric marker
For small spots, a permanent fabric marker can help blend the area with the surrounding color.
3. Turn the mark into a design
Creative fixes like embroidery, patches, or adding a pattern of intentional dots or shapes can transform the bleach spot into a custom look.
4. Prevent future bleach damage
- Avoid using undiluted bleach directly on colored clothing.
- Wear old clothes when cleaning with bleach.
- Rinse spills quickly with plenty of water.
With a little creativity, a bleach mark can often become a repair rather than a reason to discard the garment.
