How to Clean a Washing Machine Detergent Drawer
What you need
- Warm water
- White vinegar
- An old toothbrush or small cleaning brush
- A microfiber cloth
Steps
- Remove the detergent drawer
- Pull it out as far as it goes and press the release tab (if your machine has one).
- Soak the drawer
- Place it in a sink or basin with warm water.
- Add a cup of white vinegar and let it soak for 15–30 minutes.
- Scrub away buildup
- Use a toothbrush to clean corners, holes, and areas where detergent has hardened.
- Clean the drawer opening
- Wipe inside the washing machine where the drawer sits. Use a damp cloth and brush away any hidden residue.
- Rinse and dry
- Rinse the drawer thoroughly, dry it, and put it back in place.
