Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs
Ingredients
- 6–8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Honey Garlic Sauce
- ⅓ cup honey
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish
- Chopped parsley or green onions
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Lightly coat with cornstarch if using.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken for 5–7 minutes per side, until deeply golden and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 74°C (165°F)).
- Remove the chicken and set aside.
- Lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it well in the sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until glossy.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions and sesame seeds.
