Creamy One-Pot Beef and Shells

Creamy One-Pot Beef and Shells

A comforting, easy dinner made with tender pasta shells, seasoned ground beef, and a creamy cheese sauce—all cooked in one pot for simple cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 2 cups medium pasta shells (uncooked)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
  3. Mix in tomato paste, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute to deepen the flavor.
  4. Add beef broth, milk, and pasta shells. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for about 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in the cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Tips

  • Add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, peas, or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
  • For a richer sauce, use a splash of cream instead of some of the milk.
  • Leftovers can be reheated with a little milk or broth to loosen the sauce.

This dish is best served warm and fresh while the sauce is creamy.
