I can help identify it, but I’ll need a clear photo of the insect to tell what it is.
Please upload an image showing:
- The insect close up (top view if possible)
- Its size (a coin, fingernail, or ruler next to it helps)
- Any details like color, legs, wings, or whether it was attached to the skin or just crawling
Since you found it on your son’s head, a few possibilities include:
- Head lice (small, wingless insects that cling to hair and lay tiny eggs/nits)
- Ticks (often attached to the scalp and can look like a small dark bump)
- Fleas or other small insects (less commonly found on the scalp)
Until you identify it:
- Avoid crushing it with bare fingers if you’re unsure what it is.
- If it was attached to the scalp, check the surrounding hair and scalp carefully.
- If you suspect a tick, note how long it may have been attached and remove it carefully with fine-tipped tweezers if still present.
Upload the photo and I’ll take a closer look.
