Slow Cooker Pork Chops
A comforting, tender pork chop recipe that cooks slowly until the meat is flavorful and easy to cut.
Ingredients
- 4–6 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 can (about 10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and lightly brown the chops on both sides (optional, but it adds flavor).
- Place sliced onions in the slow cooker and add the pork chops on top.
- Mix the soup, chicken broth, and herbs together, then pour over the pork chops.
- Cover and cook:
- Low: 6–7 hours
- High: 3–4 hours
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or vegetables, spooning the sauce over the top.
Tip: Avoid overcooking pork chops, especially boneless ones, because they can become dry. Bone-in chops usually stay more tender during long cooking.
