Slow Cooker Pork Chops
A comforting, tender pork chop recipe with a savory gravy that’s easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 4–6 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about 2–3 cm thick)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for browning, optional)
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ cups chicken broth
- 1 can (about 300 g) cream of mushroom soup (optional for a creamy version)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, to thicken gravy)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops
- Pat pork chops dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Brown for extra flavor (optional)
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear pork chops for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
- Prepare the slow cooker
- Place sliced onions and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Add the pork chops on top.
- Make the sauce
- Mix chicken broth, cream of mushroom soup (if using), Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
- Pour over the pork chops.
- Slow cook
- Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3 hours, until the pork is tender.
- Thicken the gravy (optional)
- Remove pork chops.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook on HIGH for 10–15 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Return pork chops to the sauce before serving.

Tip: Pork chops can dry out if overcooked. For the most tender result, choose thicker chops and avoid cooking longer than needed. Bone-in chops usually stay juicier in a slow cooker.
