Here’s an easy, tender slow cooker pork chops recipe with a rich gravy.
Slow Cooker Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (optional, for browning)
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- (Optional but recommended) Brown the chops in a skillet with olive oil for 2–3 minutes per side.
- Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker and lay the pork chops on top.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
- Pour the mixture over the pork chops.
- Cook:
- Low: 6–8 hours (best for tender chops)
- High: 3–4 hours
- If you’d like a thicker gravy, whisk 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir it into the gravy during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking.
Serve with
- Mashed potatoes
- Buttered egg noodles
- Rice
- Steamed green beans, carrots, or broccoli
Tip: Thick, bone-in pork chops hold up better in the slow cooker and stay juicier than thin, boneless chops.
